My Favorite Coffee Shops in South Tampa (And Why They're Worth the Trip)

One of the things I love most about working in South Tampa is the coffee. Seriously. Between showings, client calls, and paperwork, I need a great cup — and South Tampa delivers every single time.

If you're new to the area, or just looking for your next go-to spot, here are my favorites. And yes — as someone who sings for a living, a place's vibe matters just as much as the coffee. 😊

1. Casa Azul — South Tampa's Hidden Gem

If you haven't been here yet, stop what you're doing and go. Casa Azul is a Mexican-inspired coffee shop that makes everything feel special. We're talking horchata lattes, fresh churros made to order, and espresso drinks that are genuinely some of the best in the city.

They've got a 4.9-star rating and have been voted Best Coffee Shop in Tampa. It's not hard to see why. The vibe is warm, the menu is creative, and the dulce de leche macchiato alone is worth the drive.

It's small. It's tucked away. And it's absolutely wonderful.

2. Buddy Brew Coffee — Hyde Park Classic

Buddy Brew is a Tampa original and one of those spots that just feels like home. The Hyde Park Village location is perfect for a post-showing coffee or a slow Saturday morning with a good book. Tampa Magazine named them Best Coffee in their 2025 Best of the City awards — and they've earned it.

The beans are excellent. The space is comfortable. And it's right in the heart of one of Tampa's most beautiful walkable neighborhoods.

3. DI Coffee Bar — Davis Islands Staple

DI Coffee Bar has been a Davis Islands institution for years — and it's only gotten better. The back patio is one of those spots where you sit down for "just a quick coffee" and end up staying for two hours. On Friday nights they host live jazz, which honestly makes it one of the most charming little corners of all of South Tampa.

They've grown too — now with locations in Seminole Heights and Midtown Tampa. But the Davis Islands original is still my favorite.

4. Kahwa Coffee — For Busy Mornings

When you need coffee fast and you don't want to sacrifice quality, Kahwa is your spot. They've got a drive-thru option at the South Tampa location, which as a realtor constantly running between appointments, I deeply appreciate. Roasted right here in Tampa Bay and consistently good every single time.
